Talk Description

The goal of Tethys Summit is to showcase innovation, foster collaboration, and advance the mission of the Tethys Geoscience Foundation and the open-source ecosystems of Tethys Platform and GEOGLOWS. We invite proposal submissions from a variety of experience levels and expertise.

The open source ecosystem of our projects encompass a wide spectrum of disciplines and includes contributors, app developers, scientists, students, decision makers, policymakers, and innovators. In short, if you resonate with the Tethys Geoscience Foundation Mission, submit a talk! We’d love to hear what you have to say.

Submission Guidelines

Please consider the following suggestions as you formulate your talk proposal:

  • General talks must be submitted and delivered in English.
  • Priority consideration will be given to presentations featuring developments or applications related to the Tethys Platform, GEOGLOWS, or other efforts under the Tethys Geoscience Foundation.
  • We welcome submissions on upstream open-source tools that are/could be integrated with Tethys Platform such as OpenLayers, GeoServer, THREDDS, CesiumJS, PostGIS, Bokeh, HydroServer, and more.
  • Ensure that your proposal includes a clear abstract (1000 characters), outlining your project’s goals, the technologies used, its impact, and how it connects to the TGF ecosystem.
  • Talks exploring applications of TGF technologies in any earth science domain are welcome (e.g. geology, hydrology, ecology, oceanography, environmental science, meteorology, etc.)
  • Please give appropriate credit to open-source libraries, platforms, and data services that are critical to your talk.
  • Highlighting contributions from external collaborators and communities is encouraged, in the spirit of open and ethical sharing.
  • We welcome speakers from diverse backgrounds and global regions. If accepted, presenters may be eligible for travel grants.
  • Each session will consist of a 15-minute talk followed by 5 minutes for Q&A.
  • If for any reason you or a co-author cannot attend after confirming participation, please notify the organizers as soon as possible so adjustments can be made.
